Christantus Uche Sparks Comfortable Crystal Palace Victory at Irish Side Shelbourne.
Despite entering their maiden European adventure, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Without key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a commanding result that all but guarantees them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further three points in their upcoming fixture against Finnish KuPS should be enough to seal straight entry to the last 16, especially following a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Moment
This occasion provided a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
A Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season were outmatched against a mostly rotated Palace outfit. The visitors were further weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.

Ex-Arsenal striker did not have wait long to get his goal, prodding home from close range after Uche's shot had struck the post.
The home side were clinging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to avoid a booking for two agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
